treatment of coating washing water in a paper works

practical conditions:

In a new paper works the washing waters, containing coating paints, has to be treated. That means the coating paints has to be removed by precipitation-flocculation and sedimentation.

function specifications:

The different washing waters are collected in a buffer tank and continuously pumped to the treatment plant. In the reaction tanks the removable particles are precipitated and flocculated. After that the water flows to a lamella separator.

In the separator the particles settle down onto the lamellas and slides down into the sludge funnel. A continuously rotating sludge scraper prevent compaction of the sludge. After reaching a defined sludge level it is pumped out to a filterpress (by customer) for further dewatering.

Depending on the composition of the washing water, sometimes floating particles may occure. Because of this reason, a floating sludge scraper is installed.
