practical conditions:
A manufacturer is producing and finishing laminated glass. The plates are cutted and the edges are grinded. After this the plates are washed with demineralized water. To reach better washing results, less abrasion and less water costs, the plant is added with a filtration process.
function specification:
After washing the glass plates the dirty water flows to an inclined filter. The abrasion particles (glass, plastic films ...) are kept back by the fleece. The filtrate flows into the tank below. The cleaned water is pumped back to the washing machine.
The particles, which are hold back by the fleece, form a filter cake. An increasing filter cake concludes an increasing flow resistance and the water level rise up. A level control makes the motor pull the fleece (and the sludge) out. On the other side of the filter new fleece is pulled in.
The sludge is scraped off and slides into the sludge container. The old fleece is rolled up and can be disposed separately or can be used again.
