Waste water purification from manufacturing of expandable polystyrol with lamella separators

practical conditions:

The manufacturing of EPS (expandable polystyrol) in a well-known chemical work causes a constant amount of waste water. Because of the ingredients the waste water has to be cleaned before discharge into the waste water treatment plant of the work.

After extensive tests and analyses the Leiblein lamella separator come out for the best solution.

function specification:

The waste water from manufacturing is collected in a basin and then pumped to the lamella separators. In the separators the particles are separated by sedimentation.

The treatment is designed to avoid any chemical auxiliary products.

In the lamella separator the waste water flows parallel the lamellas up. Particles settle down onto the lamella plates and slide down into the sludge funnel.

The separators are fit with covers and the air is suck off.

The sludge is thickened in a decanter. The clear water is discharged into the waste water treatment plant.
