For the production of high quality grit for concrete, a lot of washing water is needed. If the water is permanently cleaned, it can be used in a circuit. For that purpose a Leiblein lamella separator is suitable.
The dirty washing water (waste water) is loaded with fine particles and mineral components. The waste water is cleaned by a Leiblein lamella separator. All settleable particles settle down onto the lamellas and slid down into the sludge funnel. The clear water flows back to the washing circuit. The sludge is pumped off the separator in intervalls. A scraper prevent the compaction of sludge in the funnel.
The remarkable effect is that no addition of flocculant is necessary. No chemical contamination of the water or the grit occurs.
For further sludge compaction / draining additional processec / equipment is available at Leiblein.

Sample application gravel washing plant:
A good separation result was achieved with a purification capacity of less than 0.7 m/h.
| clarification surface of the lamella separator | : 150 m² |
| flow rate waste water | : 100 m³/h |
| mass flow sludge | : max. 2 t/h |
| flow rate sludge | : ca. 6.5 m³/h |
The dry substance of sludge is about 30 %. The solid particle contents of about 30 % grit and 70 % mineral particles.
