Cooling water circuit

Practical conditions:

A cooling water circuit for a gas washing is polluted with fine particles and dissolved solids. The flow rate is 550 m³/h. One part of the treatment is the purification of the water.

Solution:

In the first step a by-pass flow rate of 150 m³/h is to be purified by a Leiblein lamella separator. The Leiblein lamella separator has a clarification surface of 125 m². This follows a purification capacity of 1.2 m/h.

To reduce also finest particles a flocculant is dosed at the inlet of the lamella separator.

The lamella separates the particles and flocs. The sludge slids into the sludge funnel and is pumped intermittently to a drainage container for further thickening and draining.

The purified water flows to the cooling towers.
