For years Leiblein manufactures coolant care equipment. Special solutions are nearly inevitable due to the requirements and space conditions. For a well known transmission manufacturer a central plant for sharpening emulsion cleaning with an output of 3500 l/min. at 5 bar should be installed. The products were mainly steel shafts and gear wheels, which had to be grinded.

Leiblein used 2 pressure band filters with each 4 m² filter surface for the solution of the problem. In coordination with the customer the filters work redundantly, i.e., if one filter should fail or has to be turned off for maintenance, the other filter is able to clean the entire sharpening emulsion. In order to complete this independent system, the filter and system pumps each were supplemented with a spare pump - for the entire plant an availability of mind. 98% can be guaranteed.

The coolant quantity is limited by frequency-regulated system pumps to the actual need of the machines, that saves energy, preserves the pumps and reduces the volume.

For the controlling of the plant a control system Siemens S7-300 with a touchpanel TP270 for visualization is installed. The levels of coolant in the tank are supervised over ultrasonic probes and represented visually on the touchpanel. An automatic make-up station supplements the emulsion losses. Due to the slow filtration speed a filter cake of approx. 5-6 cm builds itself up, which is blown dry before the discharge into the containers.

Leiblein exceeded the purity requirements of the sharpening emulsion with the logically consistent plant conception.
