saving manufacturing space - another way to construct a central plant

A metal working factory cuts aluminium profiles. All of the 30 cutting machines were single supplied by cooling lubricants. Because of increasing manpower for lubricant services the company make a decision to built a central plant.

The valuable manufacturing space shouldn't be reduced very much, if possible the whole plant should be placed outside the manufacturing area.

Therefore the Leiblein company designed and constructed a central plant outside the building. The plant was delivered "ready for connection" and was fit into the concrete leakage basin. After assembling the plant a container was put over like a cover. In the time of about 36 hours the whole plant was ready for running.

After this the connecting units were assembled at the cutting machines. The units consist of a pump, an inlet valve, several sensors and an electric cabinet. The emulsion tanks of the machines keeps in order. The central plant operates in by-pass.

The function of the central plant is to clean the lubricant (remove e.g. particles, metal filings and foreign oils), cool it, and replace emulsion loss. The cooling is necessary to increase the manufacturing quality. Without cooling the emulsion temperature changes for about 25 °C. The cleaning is made by two inclined filters with fleece, the foreign oils are removed by coalescence separators. To avoid sedimentation in the clear water tank it is made with sludge funnels and the sludge is pumped out from time to time.

Leiblein company increase your profits!

With the aluminium filings a lot of emulsion is removed from the system. To minimize the loss a filing press was installed. After the press the emulsion is filtered by an inclined filter and pumped back to the central plant.

The recovery saves the company 5 - 7 m³ emulsion per week. The cost saving is at first the saving of fresh emulsion and second the saving of deposit costs. The recovery plant amortized in legendary 2 month.

About this the employers insurance is happy.

Except the advantages for the manufacturing also positive effects for the employers results. The allergic skin decease decreased.

Once again the comprehensive design concept of Leiblein company accomplished.
