low pressure filter
description:
The low pressure filter consists of two chambers, separated by a slot sieve. If necessary, the filtration through the slot sieve can be improved by a filter fleece. Above the slot sieve there is a belt scraper, which removes the sludge and, at the same time moves the filter fleece forward. The used filter fleece is coiled up with a hoist.
The low pressure filter can be used in temperatures up to 60°C and filtrates a flow rate up to 180 m³/h.

The polluted water flows into the top chamber, from there is absorbed through the slot sieve with a pump. At the same time, the particles are separated. As the filter cake expands, a decreasing amount of water reaches the pump what causes a depression in the bottom chamber. At a defined minimum pressure the pump is switched off or connected to a clear water tank to guarantee a constant clear water flow.
In the same time the sludge is removed from the sieve by the belt scraper and the filtration process starts again.
